How do I control who can see my group?
If you want to prevent everyone but members from seeing any part of your group, you need to make the group TOP SECRET.
Go to Your Stuff » Groups, then click the pencil next to the name of your group to begin editing it. You will be taken to the group editing overview page.
Click "Settings" (The gear icon )
Switch to the "Privacy and Publicity" tab at the top.
On the Privacy & Publicity page, select the option "This group is TOP SECRET. No one but members and people we have invited to join may see the group, even if they have a link."
This option will prevent your group from appearing in any of the on-site group directories, and prevent it from showing up in search results to non-members. Even if someone has the link to get to your group directly, they will simply see the message "This group is top secret" and nothing more, unless they are a member or a prospective member that you've sent a specific invitation to join.
