Buffing other players was added to combat this year! Every 10 attacks, you could boost another player for +1 AC, or, if you had crafted a magic Fish Oil, you could pick stronger benefits to give friends.
This was also the first year that the status effect bleed was introduced to Epic Week, taking its place alongside poison and blight. Bleed was unique among the status effects in that there was no curative item that could remove this status effect - one simply had to eat the additional damage during their next 3 attacks.
Combat followed standard Epic Week rules. Monsters would spawn in front of objects with symbols every hour, or when a symbol was solved. They had specific damage type vulnerability based on color.
