Combat was introduced in 2015, and has looked very similar since.
When the game begins, you will be in the treasury with a single weapon in front of you. The object of the game is to kick that weapon through the fortress until you find the cannon.
Completing all of the symbols is the only way for the community to complete or "win" Epic Week. Generally, all other gameplay elements are in support of getting to and completing the symbols.
All users have 75 max HP. Users regain 5 HP at the start of each combat round, unless they have the blight status effect.
All users have 10 max stamina. Every attack costs 1 stamina, meaning an individual user can attack a maximum of 10 times per round if they do not use a special item to replace spent stamina.
Because Epic Weeks are celebrations of the site's birthday, the primary healing items take the form of party hats. But there have historically been others.
Because Epic Week is designed around team work, you can never apply a buff to yourself, you can only apply a buff to other people.
